What does the process look like during the project?
We’re highly flexible and want you to feel involved in the project in a way that suits you. That’s why the process can vary slightly depending on your needs and preferences, but usually it goes something like this:
- At the start of every new project, we sit down with you to go through your needs, what you want to communicate, and the features of your product or service.
- Based on this, we put together a proposal in the form of a moodboard and a storyboard that outlines the different sequences of the animation, and send it over for feedback. This is your chance to give input and make sure it feels right, and we’ll make any necessary adjustments until you’re happy.
- Once we’ve agreed on a concept and created a storyboard you’re happy with, we begin working on the different sequences in 3D. We usually start by testing different solutions and creating a few “styleframes”—rough stills meant to show what the final visual style might look like. We then send these over so you can review and give feedback.
- If you have any requests for changes, we’ll make adjustments and send new versions until you’re satisfied. Meanwhile, we’ll continue developing the different sequences for the 3D animation.
- Once we’ve nailed the visual feel in the styleframes and created animated drafts, we’ll send those for feedback as well.
- This stage may also include testing the drafts with sound effects, voiceover, or music if that’s part of the project.
- Once everything is approved, we render the project in high resolution and compile the final 3D animation in your desired resolutions and formats, then deliver it securely to you for use.
Who owns the rights to the animation?
You own all rights to the final material, and there are no additional costs or licenses beyond the project fee.
We usually only retain the right to showcase the project in our own marketing after you’ve launched the animation yourselves.
What do you need from us?
The material needed for 3D animation can vary depending on the project, but in most cases, we just need something visual to recreate your product. If you already have 3D/CAD files, we can use them. Otherwise, we can work from drawings, sketches, photos, or physical samples.
If your product has any print or label design, we’ll need some type of print file—preferably a .pdf or another vector format.
We’re also happy to receive any brand guidelines, or if you already have a moodboard or your own storyboard that you’d like us to use as a reference.
Can we get the 3D animation in any file format/resolution/etc?
Everything we create is delivered in high resolution and quality. You choose the file format, resolution, etc., based on your needs.
We usually deliver animations in 1080p or 4K, often with alternative sizes suitable for things like social media.
We typically deliver still images in 4K, which works well for both web and print, but we can also provide them in other sizes and formats depending on your requirements.
Can still images be created as part of the same project?
If you need still images for your campaign—like your product in environments that match the 3D animation or simpler product shots—we’ll put together a complete package that includes this as well.
It’s often quite cost-effective to produce still images when we’re already creating assets for the animation. This way, you ensure that all visual material in your campaign feels consistent and professional.
Do you work on projects with other agencies?
